KNUT Directs All P1 Teachers Not to teach JSS Unless Deployed by TSC
The previous meeting between the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and Teachers Union officials seems to have borne fruit, as the commission was set to deploy P1 teachers to teach in junior secondary schools, starting this January. If only they meet the following qualifications:
Before being deployed to a junior secondary school, the P1 teacher should have any of the following qualifications:
1. Diploma in Education
2. Higher National Diploma in Education
3. Bachelors Degree in Education
4. Post Graduate Diploma in Education
5. Masters Degree or PhD in Education
All applicants must have completed a secondary teacher education program and have taught at least two subjects.
At KCSE, you must have a mean grade of C+ (plus) or higher.
According to the circular seen by educationupdates.co.ke, KNUT directed all P1 teachers will only teach JSS unless they are deployed by the Commission but should not be forced.
Below is the circular to all P1 teachers
