Aspiring teacher trainees were asked by the (KUCCPS) on Wednesday to access their placement information on the KUCCPS student portal.
Good news for future educators: the DPTE/DECTE entry requirements have undergone a significant adjustment.
Recent changes include:
The minimal requirement is now a grade of C for both the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) and the Diploma in Early Childhood Teacher Education (DECTE) programs.
Clusters of subjects are no longer required.
A C (Plain) grade in English, Kiswahili, mathematics, one humanities course, and one science was once required of applicants.
This change ensures that applicants with impairments are not subject to additional limitations by eliminating the requirement for specific subject clusters.

How to Access the Student Portal for KUCCPS
- Visit www.kuccps.ac.ke to access the official KUCCPS website in your selected web browser.
- On the Home Page, look for the “Student’s Portal” tab in the top right. To access the LOGIN page, click it.
- Click the “LOGIN” tab, which is also found in the upper right corner, once you’ve arrived at the LOGIN page.
Step 2: Signing in You may find a simple and straightforward STUDENT LOGIN form on the LOGIN page. To log in easily, adhere to following steps:
- Enter your KCSE Index Number, KCSE examination year, and password in the login box.
- Click the “LOGIN” option at the bottom of the form after completing the necessary information.
Note: Your birth certificate number is originally selected as your default password. You might try using your KCPE Index Number as your password if this doesn’t work.
