Marking of 2022 KCPE Exam To Begin Immediately
The marking of the 2022 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examination will start as soon as the candidates have completed the last paper on Wednesday.
Julius Jwan, the principal secretary of the Basic Education Department, stated that the examiners responsible for marking the exams had already reported to their stations.
Dr. Jwan stated that the examiners would be bringing the mark sheets back to Nairobi today, and as soon as they get there, the marking would start.
Jwan made these remarks in Nakuru after he had personally oversaw the distribution of examination materials at the Nakuru East office of the deputy county commissioner.
He reported that the tests were progressing normally, with just a few minor issues that could be quickly fixed.
Dr. Jwan further elucidated the fact that candidates from the 67 schools located in the counties of Uasin Gishu and Bungoma were appearing for their examinations in other schools.
He stated that students from private schools in Uasin Gishu and Bungoma, of which there were a total of 52 in Uasin Gishu and 15 in Bungoma, whose center managers had failed to collect examination materials were participating in the examinations at other centers because their schools had been closed during the Covid-19 lockdown period.
Mr. Jwan issued a warning to the schools about the dangers of indulging in test irregularities.
Dr. Jwan added that the ministry was waiting for a report before taking any necessary action, and he was referring to a school in Nakuru County that is now the subject of an inquiry for allegedly enrolling candidates who were found to be low performers at several centers
Learners need to have the opportunity to act like children . We do not wish to create a profile of them. According to Dr. Juan, “our officers are investigating the [situation] since we believe that to be an irregularity.”
He asked teachers and parents to help and safeguard students from being abused by selfish individuals .
