The Teachers Service Commission is inviting applications for 328 internship vacancies in Junior Secondary schools. Interested and qualified candidates must apply online through the Commission’s website, www.tsc.go.ke under “Careers” or teachersonline.tsc.go.ke,

Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for recruitment, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

i) Be a Kenyan citizen.

ii) Hold at least a diploma in education with a minimum mean Grade of C+ and C+ in two teaching subjects in KCSE or its equivalent.

iii) Be a registered teacher with the Teachers Service Commission.

TSC JSS EMPLOYMENT SLOTS

General Information:

i) Manual applications will not be considered.

ii) The Commission’s Recruitment Guidelines for the 2022/2023 Financial Year (Post Primary Institutions) will be applied.

iii) Shortlisted candidates must provide original academic and professional certificates.

iv) Selection will be based on merit and the number of vacancies per County.

v) Former permanent and pensionable employees of the Teachers Service Commission and those who have served under the TSC internship program are not eligible.

vi) Applicants can apply to two schools with appropriate vacancies.

vii) Successful candidates must not accept more than one offer of internship; doing so will lead to disqualification.

viii) Successful applicants need Personal Accident Insurance for personal risk coverage during the internship.

TSC JSS EMPLOYMENT SLOTS

Note:

a) The Teacher Internship Program is a one-year program meant to enhance the teaching competencies of registered teachers by providing mentorship and practical teaching experience.

b) During verification/interviews, applicants must produce several documents, including a Teacher Registration Certificate, National Identity Card, and more.

Duration of Internship:

The internship period will be twelve months.

Monthly Stipend for Teacher Interns:

This is not a remunerative engagement, but secondary school teacher interns will receive a monthly stipend of Kshs. 20,000, subject to statutory deductions.

Internship Certificate:

Upon successful completion of the program, teacher interns will receive a certificate.

The Teachers Service Commission encourages persons with disabilities (PWDs) to apply.

Caution:

The recruitment exercise is free of charge, and applicants should be cautious of potential fraudsters.
