The Teachers Service Commission has consistently worked hard to support teachers in their decision to remain in the classroom. The commission has regularly created rules and regulations to make sure that teacher absences are managed and monitored. No matter whether they are on duty or not, instructors are required to be present at school all throughout the school day, according to the commission.

TSC has started a new initiative to cut down on teacher absenteeism in reaction to this. According to the commission’s directive, teachers must now submit their requests for leaves of absence online. In its database, the commission has more than 300,000 teachers recorded. The committee wants to concur.

In our country today, education is essentially free thanks to government policies. The government consistently provides teaching resources to every public school in the country in order to effectively transmit knowledge. The committee emphasises the importance of educators always being reachable to students in order to help them in this way. All tutors are asked to make sure that teacher absences are completely avoided, according to a recent circular that the commission delivered to all school administrators and curriculum support personnel.

The teachers service commission and the ministry of education have recently been at odds. A few activities that the ministry of education had scheduled for teachers were recently cancelled by the commission. The commission emphasises that these circumstances frequently necessitate teachers missing class, which has an adverse effect on the kids.

The TSC headquarters must now receive an official online leave request from each TSC educator who desires to take a leave of absence. In the past, instructors had to request permission from the principal and record their absence in the official school diary.

In order to miss work, primary school principals will now need written permission from the regional TSC sub county director. Additionally, the sub county director’s approval is required if funds from the school are to be used somewhere other than the school’s grounds.

The committee further demanded that all activities involving teacher participation take place over the weekends and during school breaks in order to reduce teacher absenteeism. The aforementioned instruction must be followed at conferences organised by the Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association and Kenya Primary School Heads Association.

All TSC-registered teachers who are Saccos, or elected union officials, plan their conferences and meetings over the weekends and during school breaks. It is illegal for teachers to carry out any tasks during allotted teaching and learning periods that are outside the scope of their primary duties.

In the event that the instructor who has been given permission online is not present, local arrangements must be made to guarantee that courses are not missed. The commission also asks for a list of all untaught courses.
