The process of document verification for primary and junior secondary school intern teachers across the nation has begun under the direction of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). all TSC sub-county directors in the nation have invited qualified intern applicants to check their documentation beginning on Monday, July 31.When being verified by the recruitment panel, applicants who receive an SMS from the sub-county director should produce the following documents.
- National identification card;
- Certificate of Registration as a teacher;
- Diploma/Degree certificate and official transcripts;
- KCSE certificates or its equivalent (include certificates for attempts if one re-sat exams);
- KCPE certificate or its equivalent (include certificates for attempts if one re-sat exams);
- Primary and Secondary School leaving certificates and other relevant testimonials;
- National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD) Card (where applicable);
- An Affidavit sworn under the Oaths and Statutory Declarations Act, Cap 15 of the Laws of Kenya to explain the variance in names;
- Letter of certification of results by KNEC (where applicable).
To ensure that only registered and qualified teachers are taken into consideration during the shortlisting stage and to avoid engaging with unregistered/deregistered teachers or ineligible candidates, Sub-County Directors are required to confirm the online registration status of the applicants as per TSC recruitment guidelines .“Through a Short Messaging Service (SMS), the TSC Sub-County Director shall invite shortlisted applicants for the document verification. The communication must contain the interview date, location, and time.
At least seven (7) days after the invitation date must pass before doing the document verification. TSC recommendations are part.
In compliance with the provisions of the Constitution and the Law, the Commission ensures that 5% of all open places for new instructors are designated for educators with disabilities.
The TSC published job openings earlier this month for 18,000 intern teachers in junior secondary schools (JSS) and 2,000 intern teachers in public primary schools.
The commission said in a circular that the one-year internship program’s goal is to prepare and maintain the competencies of tutors who are beginning their careers as teachers.
