TSC set to Deploy 10,000 Primary school teachers
The Teachers Service Commission is again planning to deploy more than 10,000 teachers in secondary schools.
These teachers were primary school teachers originally recruited by TSC but met the minimum requirements to teach in middle schools.
In order for someone to be placed teaching at a college, TSC must advertise for those positions.
Promotions are carried out through TSC’s official website and social media platforms. TSC minimum requirements
Requirements include:
Must be a primay school teacher belonging to TSC
Have at least Plus scores in two subjects taught at the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education KCSE or equivalent.
Achieve a C+ average in Kenya, KCSE secondary education certificate or equivalent
Must complete a minimum of 8 credits in both taught subjects
To ensure the CBC program is implemented smoothly and easily, the TSC Executive Director must monitor how teachers present at their new stations.
Deploying TSC teachers
JSS learners study at least 9 subjects as part of recent reforms implemented as part of the implementation of the CBC curriculum.
Learners must study a minimum and maximum of two subjects from the following groups:
visual and performing arts included
Family Science,
information technology,
foreign languages - German, French, Mandarin, Arabic, KSL and Kenyan Sign Language
Native language.
The program is consistent and regularly delivered with the time allocated for each course. 40 minutes.
The distribution of lessons for high school and university programs is as follows:
English 5 lessons
Math 5 lessons
Studying pre-engineering 4 lessons
Kiswahili/KSL 4 course
Science integrates 4 lessons
Sociology 3 lessons
Business research 3 lessons
Agriculture 3 lessons
Religious education (IRE, CRE and HRE) 3 lessons
Physical education and sports 2 courses
life skills education 1 lesson
Choose 1 3 lessons
