At Long Last: Stage Finally Set at Bomas For Chebukati To Announce Presidential Winner

Receiving and verifications of Forms34Bs from constituencies have been concluded by the IEBC at the Bomas of Kenya.

The exercise came to an end on Monday morning and the clerks who had been involved in the tedious work have already cleared the venue. From the photos shared from inside Bomas, the stage has been re-arranged and set ready for the announcement of the Presidential results.

It is expected that IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati is going to announce the winner anytime from now.

All camps have remained optimistic that their candidates will be declared the winner. However, Agano party presidential candidate David Mwaure is the only candidate who has come out to concede defeat and announce that he will support UDA’s William Ruto.

Despite the anxiety, most residents of Eldoret and Kisumu cities, where Raila and Ruto come from, have maintained that they are ready for any candidate between the two who will be declared the winner. They have vowed to maintain peace and continue with their daily hustles peacefully.

“Whoever will be declared the winner, we will be satisfied, we thought and hoped that Raila will be declared the winner but whoever Chebukati will announce, we will be satisfied,” said one of Kisumu city residents.

Already, security has been beefed up at Bomas ahead of the big announcement
