TROUBLE IN IEBC AFTER WHAT HAPPENED TO CHERERA AND OTHER COMMISSIONERS IN MOMBASA
The IEBC Plot Thickens:
A retreat to evaluate the performance of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ended up in a further split as mistrust among the commissioners played out.
Differences between the two sets of IEBC commissioners grow deeper as the four breakaway commissioners booed by a section of staff at a retreat in Mombasa
The Nation learnt that there was jeering and cheering of some of the commissioners when they addressed the meeting.
According to sources, so pronounced was the fallout that the two opposing factions did not share a boardroom, with each booking a different holding room. Ms Cherera’s group was in Witu boardroom while Mr Chebukati’s was in the Tana room.
Rutere Kagendob- I do not know about the boardroom wrangles that went on. But what I know is that their actions were irresponsible and they even admitted it when they agreed with the supreme court ruling and Chebukati’s statement after the court rulling! My opinion is that they are not fit to serve as commissioners! They hit below the standards and almost plunged the country into chaos! They lacked the slightest level of patriotism at that point. Please post your own comment. This is my personal view, sitaki matusi!
Mwalimu kibet – The most honorable thing for them as at now is to resign.
Wanjiru – Those commissioners are there by right and should not be intimidated.
