Upon verificationof academic, professional Documents and other pertinent documents Sub-County selection committee shall create a Sub-County Merit List.
The TSC Sub-County Directors are responsible for submitting Sub-County Merit Lists to the TSC County Directors, who assemble a County Selection Panel to construct a County Merit List.
County Merit List shall be utilized in subsequent recruitment processes within the fiscal year or as the Commission instructed from time to time.
A sign language interpreter shall be permitted to accompany a candidate with a hearing and/or speech disability.
How TSC Breaks a Tie During Teacher Recruitment Interviews
In the event of a tie in the ranking, consideration for selection will be based on the following criteria:
a) the disability status of applicants;
b) the number of years after graduation.
c) The strength of the academic and professional credentials given.
In the event of a tie in PTE/DPTE Upgrade Certificate point totals, the cumulative KCSE grade point average or its equivalent will be considered.
During the selection process, the selection committee will evaluate each candidate to see if he or she satisfies the requirements of the TSC posting.
Teachers who have previously worked for the Commission or participated in the teacher internship program are ineligible.
Any internship contract concluded based on deceptive information provided by the applicant shall be null and void without further reference to the applicant.
The merit lists developed and used during this recruitment shall be used in the subsequent replacement of teacher interns within the financial year or as the Commission instructed from time to time.
