Four Commissioners Opens up More Details to a Nairobi Lawyer on What was Happening in IEBC

This is the first time in a presidential election petition where the commission as a corporate entity and its chairman are reading from different scripts. This is after four of seven commissioners failed to own the presidential results announced by the commission Chairman Mr Wafula Chebukati, encouraging the trailing runners up to move to Court for the rule of law to prevail.

However, according to Nairobi Lawyer Kibe Muingai who had a moment with the four commissioners disputing presidential results and later spoke to the nation, he has reveled more details on what was going on amongst the commissioner all through the electoral exercise.

Speaking to the Nation, Muingai the four commissioners being newly appointed to the Commission to replace those who resigned after 2017 elections, they were being sidelined all through on matters of great importance, including the appointment of returning officers.

“The ‘new’ commissioners also complained about being sidelined in the appointment of returning officers and there were reports that they were blindsided by the arrival of the first batch of ballot papers. Some of them learnt of the arrival just a few hours before the cargo landed in the country from Greece,” muingai said while speaking to the Nation
