All eyes in Kenya are currently focused on the hearing before the supreme court. After multiple challenges challenging the outcomes of the August polls were submitted, Kenyans are curious as to what the supreme court will rule.
Let’s examine the Supreme Court’s course of action now. The petitions were initially supposed to be received on August 22. On August 22, the date set by the IEBC, Raila and other Azimio leaders were observed filing the case.
The petitions were filed and served on the respondent on August 23. A response will be filed four days later. Those who submitted the petitions will learn at this time whether theirs was successful.
On August 28, a rejoinder will be submitted and served. Interlocutory applications will be submitted and served on August 29. They will then receive responses on August 30.
Applications from third parties will be submitted and served on the last day of the month (August 31).
Within 14 days of the date of filing, the case will be heard and decided.
The deadline for making a decision is November 5th.
