TSC Issues CBC Training Payment Rates For Teachers

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued a circular outlining the payment rates for Curriculum Support Officers, teachers, and other personnel attending training on the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).The circular provides detailed information on travel allowances, remuneration, and meals for participants. The breakdown is as follows:

1. Participants will be reimbursed for travel expenses at prevailing fares, up to a maximum of Kshs. 1000 (for CSO) and Kshs. 800 (for Champions).
2. The training institution will cover venue costs and provide meals (2 teas and lunch) at Kshs. 400 per day for 3 days, along with stationery at Kshs. 100 per participant.
3. Each participant will receive a daily subsistence allowance of Kshs. 3000 to cover accommodation for 4 days.
4. Teachers will be reimbursed Kshs. 300 per day to cover travel expenses.
5. CSOs and CBC Champions will receive a facilitation allowance of Kshs. 1000 per day for 5 days.
6. Participants will receive Kshs. 1000 per day for 5 days to cover accommodation costs.
7. Common lunch will be provided at Kshs. 400 per day per participant and facilitators for 5 days.
8. Kshs. 100 per participant has been allocated for stationery.
9. Fuel allowance of Kshs. 5000 per vehicle for a maximum of 2 vehicles per county and 3 vehicles for counties hosting the Regional Director.
10. Lunch allowance, up to a maximum of Kshs. 1500 per day, will be provided for 5 days to the Regional Directors, County Directors, Deputy County Directors, 2 drivers, and the County Accounts. This will be paid based on prevailing rates per job group.
