On Wednesday 9 November, 2022, some reports came out that there is a plan to change the cut-off points for University entry.
According to the latest report presented by the Star newspaper on Wednesday evening, University Vice Chancellors for public universities have started making reforms in order to achieve sufficient funding at their respective institutions. Among the changes they want to take effect is the limiting of the number of students transiting from secondary schools to the universities.
Reports reveal that state versities plan to raise the cut-off points from the current 46points(C+) to a higher score to reduce the number of government sponsored students transiting directly to universities. The University Vice Chancellors believe that doing so will save the public universities from financial ruin.
This plan could now mean that the old system might be reinstated where students had to score at least a B (plain) in KSCE to qualify to the university.
